Who we’re looking for:
ArtOps’ Artistic Operations Manager works with the senior staff that primarily serves Detroit Chamber Winds & Strings (DCWS), the Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival (GLCMF) and Cabaret 313 (C313). The position is the primary liaison between the organizations, their artists, and performance venues.

Job qualifications:
- Two (2) years of progressive arts operations experience;
- BS/BA in the performing arts, arts education, marketing, communications or relevant field;
- Demonstrable initiative, strong problem resolution and organizational skills;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- The ability to work independently and motivate others;
- The ability to interact effectively, using discretion and independent judgement, with a sophisticated constituency;
- Knowledge of the area’s musical community;
- Ability to multi-task in an unsupervised environment.
Preferred:
- At least two (2) years in an operations management role
- Nonprofit operations experience
- Demonstrated appreciation for the arts
Job Responsibilities:
- Plays a lead role with DCWS, GLCMF and C313 artistic leaders in executing various concert series;
- Engages and contracts artistic performers for DCWS and GLCMF;
- Acts as a primary operations liaison to the DCWS and GLCMF musicians;
- Contracts with performance and other outside venues for DCWS, GLCMF and C313;
- Oversees all rehearsal scheduling and logistics for DCWS, GLCMF and C313;
- Coordinates with C313 Executive Director to ensure smooth artistic operations at Cabaret events;
- Assists with planning and executing of special events that can include GLCMF opening night dinner and DCWS annual celebration, C313 Soiree and others as needed;
- Works with assigned employees to achieve the most efficient use of time on a weekly basis;
- Manages the workflow and tasks of interns assigned to operations team;
- Maintains written office procedures manual for area of responsibility;
- Oversees the music library;
- Oversees tour/travel logistics;
- Other tasks as assigned.
How we’ll measure success:
By evaluating the success and implementation of operations for DCWS, GLCMF and C313; evaluating operations execution for the year and by receiving consistently positive feedback from boards, committees, musicians, staff and patrons.
Hours:
This is a 40 hour per week position, requiring nights and weekends (schedule set with staff and successful candidate upon hire).
Compensation:
The position is available immediately and offers a stimulating work environment with available health insurance, paid vacation and 403(b) match. Salary is commensurate with experience. Expected range is $45,000 - $50,000.
