Position: Institutional Giving Manager
Reports to: Jocelyn Conselva, Director of Development

Who We’re Looking For:
The ideal candidate has experience in grant writing and grant management, a keen interest in classical music, and is extremely organized and detail oriented. This individual will work full-time servicing ArtOps and 7+ of its grant services client organizations including Detroit Chamber Winds and Strings, the Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival, and Cabaret 313. While involved in many development activities, the Institutional Giving Manager primarily focuses on securing and managing grants from institutional funders, including government and foundations.
Job Responsibilities -
Grants Management:
- Manage all aspects of institutional and government grants for ArtOps and 7+ of its clients adhering to all guidelines and deadlines for each grant
- Track all grant submissions, receipts, reports, and response and evaluation efforts
- Ensure grant compliancy for each organization and grant opportunity
Grant Services:
- Conduct comprehensive grant preparation, including researching new grant opportunities and Requests for Proposals (RFPs), attending webinars, following up with grantors, and identifying required deliverables and application assets
- With clients, develop ideas for each proposal, draft project narratives, prepare budgets, collect supporting documents, review all uploaded documents prior to submission, and submit grants in a timely manner
- Lead the post-award processes, including acknowledgement letters, budget adjustments, and compliance with grantor requirements
- Provide follow-up support for successful and unsuccessful grant applications by communicating the outcome to the client, requesting feedback from the grantor, facilitating and submitting final reports
- Collaborate with the client to develop strategies for future applications, including appeal processes or reapplying for future opportunities
General:
- Support the overall development team efforts
- Work concerts and events as assigned throughout the year for operations partnering organizations
- Answer phones and take ticket orders as necessary
- Submit time tracking regularly
- Participate in ArtOps staff planning and team activities, and execute other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

- A strong appreciation for performing arts, especially music
- The ability to interact effectively, with discretion and independent judgment, with a sophisticated constituency
- Exceptionally strong writing skills
- Attention to detail and solid proofreading and editing skills
- Confidence in effectively communicating across a wide variety of platforms, including telephone, web, and written and in-person solicitations/presentations
- Strong project management skills
- Demonstrable initiative, strong problem resolution and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in an unsupervised environment
Preferred:
- Relevant experience in grant writing, grant management, and other written solicitation vehicles
- Knowledge of fundraising techniques and strategies
Hours:
This is a 40 hour per week position, currently hybrid, requiring occasional nights and weekend concert coverage (schedule set with staff and successful candidate upon hire).
Salary: This position has an expected salary range of $45,000-$50,000 plus benefits.
